Optimization
Optimization is the logical next step in order to plan progress toward a better integration of ecosystem services and biodiversity in agricultural land planning.
Based on the results of WP 2 and WP 3, WP 4 provided an optimisation tool to assess land management strategies from the perspective of multifunctionality, and evaluates land use driven trade-offs between biodiversity, ecosystem services and other environmental targets.

The Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research – UFZ, developed an innovative Optimization tool entitled CoMOLA.
To get an overview of the model, please consult this presentation given in Vienna in 2016.
To run the model and adapt it to your own case study, find here all necessary files along with guidelines for implementation, regularly updated.
